From August 25–29, 2025, the International Trade Hub at SeaPort Manatee led a five-day Business Development Trip across Honduras, covering more than 800 miles and visiting cities including Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, Intibucá, San Miguel, San Juan, Santa Rosa de Copán, La Ceiba, and Tocoa.
The centerpiece of the mission was the official opening of the Hub’s new office in Tegucigalpa, marking a major step in strengthening trade and investment connections between Honduras and the United States. Along the journey, the Hub team met with private companies, business associations, and government entities to promote its programs and opportunities.
Three signature initiatives were introduced to support the new office:
- YCO (Your Company Office Program): A commercial office model in Manatee County, Florida, offering Honduran companies a physical base to launch operations in the U.S.
- HYBRID: A program designed to connect Honduran companies with U.S. investors to help them enter the domestic American market.
- NAMPEX: An initiative identifying Honduran companies capable of representing and generating opportunities for U.S. businesses and products in the local market.
Over the course of the trip, the Hub hosted 15 meetings and delivered 4 presentations, engaging with key organizations such as the Honduran Council of Private Enterprise (COHEP), the National Investment Council, multiple chambers of commerce, city halls, and prominent companies in the coffee, seafood, and manufacturing sectors. Media coverage amplified the impact, with a press conference held for four television channels—including two national networks—and features aired twice on HRN’s morning and afternoon news.
The successful mission, organized in partnership with GM&L and ARAS Consulting, showcased the Hub’s growing international presence and its role as a connector for business opportunities across borders.
